Fusion Marine in New Drive into Norwegian Market
The large diameter Triton cage has already been tried and tested in a number of demanding environments around the world. It has proved, for example, extremely successful for offshore tuna farming, with the cages having been used for a number of years in Chile, the Mediterranean and Australia.
The Triton SL version has been specifically developed for salmon farming, with a number of Scottish farms currently using the system. Now, Fusion Marine is looking to develop the Norwegian market for Triton.
Stephen Divers, managing director, said: "We are currently looking for a partner in Norway because we feel that Triton has huge potential there, given its proven track record and robust construction. Fish farm companies in Norway are well aware of the huge benefits of all plastic polyethylene cages."
Triton is constructed from three thick-walled 400mm or 450mm polyethylene pipes, designed to resist impact and reduce distortion in stormy offshore conditions.
This ensures maximum stock bio-security by significantly reducing risks on exposed or open sea sites. Triton also features specially designed anti-slip safety decking. The cage is also available in a two-pipe configuration for less demanding environments.
Mr Divers said: "Working in tandem with a Norwegian partner, we are confident that many fish farmers in the country would be keen to trial Triton. We would be extremely interested to hear from any Norwegian company keen to explore a partnership agreement."
