GENERAL - The International Agri-Technology Centre Ltd (IATC) has signed an agreement with the Brazilian Ministry for Fisheries and Aquaculture (MPA), to provide transfer of UK technology and expertise for the development of the Brazilian aquaculture industry.

The agreement is the result of a programme of activities organized by IATC and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) both in Brazil and the UK, demonstrating the UK’s capabilities in the aquaculture sector, reports AllAboutFeed.

According to the news organisation, IATC’s visit to Brazil in February this year, under the Joint Economic Trade Committee (JETCO) agreement, was the opportunity for Director, Philippa David, and Industry Specialist, Dr David Fletcher, to finalise details of the agreement.

Philippa David commented, “MPA have previously worked with other countries to develop Brazilian aquaculture, but having seen the quality and capability of UK research and seafood production systems, they are now focused on using UK technology to develop their industry.
