Print This Page India, Russia Ink Agreement on Seafood Exports
GENERAL - India and Russian Federation has reached a new administrative arrangement on shipping and export of fish and seafood products from India, according to Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).
According to The Hindu, he agreement was signed between MPEDA Chairperson Leena Nair on behalf of the Export Inspection Council (EIC) and the Federal Service of Veterinary and Phytosantiary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (FSVPS) Deputy head, N A Vlasov in Moscow on Tuesday.
The arrangement, besides defining the terms of export for over 45 Indian fish processing establishments, details the modalities of cooperation in the fields of quarantine and inspections during the export and import of products processed from wild catch and aquaculture, the release said.
