Certified Sustainable Whiteleg from Viet Nam
According to WorldFishing, the farm was audited by an international certification body and was found to be compliant with Friend of the Sea strict sustainability requirements. The farming sites were found to be managing their potential environmental impacts properly, monitoring water parameters, preventing impact on surrounding ecosystem, managing water, waste and energy appropriately, says the news organisation.
Hue Fisheries, with 600 employees, also produces squid, cuttlefish and octopus. “We believe the Friend of the Sea label, recognising our clean sustainable production, can represent an important added value,” comments Phan Xuan Trang, Chairman of Fideco. “We wish also to distinguish from other producers which might not implement such high environmental standards”.
