Kiotech Appoints New Head of Aquaculture

10 August 2009

GENERAL - Kiotech, the supplier of high performance natural feed additives to the aquaculture, has appointed Maarten Jay van Schoonhoven as Head of Aquaculture.

Maarten joins Kiotech from INVE and Salt Creek where he was sales manager across South East Asia and in the Latin and North America region too. Maarten has also worked with aquaculture supplier Catvis and has a two MSc’s from Wageningen and Cork Universities in both Biology and Aquaculture.

“We are delighted Maarten has agreed to join Kiotech,” said chief executive Richard Edwards. “His extensive sales experience and contacts around the world along with his significant practical knowledge and experience of aquaculture will be extremely beneficial as we continue to build our Aquatice business. He will complement the technical capability which we have through our partnership with Cefas and will be working closely with them.”

Maarten’s role as head of aquaculture will involve appointing distributors and working with the feed mills and farmers to get Aquatice’s species specific products used and sold into key customers. He will also be overseeing and monitoring customer trials and conducting the product launch process in each country.

I am really looking forward to joining an ambitious company like Kiotech which has huge potential in the aquaculture market, said Maarten Jay van Schoonhoven. “My initial focus will be in South East Asia and supporting our Chinese business in their efforts to get first commercial sales. I will also be looking at broadening our product range with other products which complementary the Aquatice species specific blends.”
