Huge Fish Processing Plant Open in Hau Giang
According to the Vietnam News, Minh Phu Factory, described as one of the three biggest facilities of its kind in the world, is expected to employ 10,000 local workers and can make an annual turnover of US$180 million.
Speaking at the event, the deputy prime minister said the Government attached importance to the construction of large-scale and labour-intensive processing factories in the Mekong Delta like Minh Phu.
"Developing processing facilities that use local farm and aqua material is the major orientation in the region’s economic development," he said.
Minh Phu managers said the company would become the country’s biggest shrimp producer and processor in the years to come.
"Such development style is necessary in boosting the country’s major export product line," Hai said.
