Print This Page Brazil Reports Listed Shrimp Disease
BRAZIL - The veterinary authority has reported the discovery of infectious hypodermal and haematopoietic necrosis virus to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The Brazilian veterinary authority sent Immediate Notification dated 26 August to OIE.
The report describes the discovery of the infectious hypodermal and haematopoietic necrosis virus at Canavieiras in Bahia state on 30 July.
The virus was found during a routine PCR test at a marine shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) grow-out farm in a semi-closed saltwater production system. The population showed no clinical signs of the disease.
