VIET NAM - Aqua-products exports showed signs of recovery and grew sharply in such markets as US and EU countries with a total export volume and value increased by 20 per cent and 6-8 per cent respectively against the same period in 2008.

The nation’s aqua-products export turnover in August reached US$450 million, an increase of US$50 million compared to the July’s figures, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. However, the total export value of aqua-products in eight months only gained US$2.65 billion, down 8.11 per cent against the same period last year due to the shortage of raw shrimp.
