BIOTEC-E 2009 to Focus on Aquaculture Biotechnology
The First Congress of Aquaculture Biotechnology (BIOTEC-E 2009) organized by the Node of Aquaculture Biotechnology and the PTI Salmon Cluster will meet up in Puerto Varas several prominent researchers that will focus the debate around the development of aquaculture biotechnology in aid of an industry with high productive standards.
Fish Farming Xpert reports that the organizers said that their main objective is to produce and stimulate the active interaction between the academic environment, the aquaculture private enterprises and the Government, allowing the linkage in an atmosphere conducive to planning and attainment of shared benefits.
According to the Node of Aquaculture Biotechnology sub-director, Daniel Suárez, this activity will include analysis to subjects like molecular pathogeny, vaccines, stress and immune response, water quality and recirculation, food and nutrition technology, genetics and breeding.
