Russia Changes Import Conditions
The move comes because of the large numbers of applications for the import of fish products into the Russian Federation.
Rosselkhoznador's new regulations that come into effect after 1 December this year will mean all import plants will have to meet all the necessary conditions for processing, storage, transportation, marketing of hydrobionts, fish, marine products and products.
The Rosselkhoznador said it was necessary to have a transition period up to 1 December for the inspection of plants, assigning registration numbers to them and their inclusion into the list.
At present, the number of commission veterinary and sanitary inspection acts received by the Rosselkhoznadzor from the territorial administrations, that are necessary for assigning registration numbers to importers is significantly lower than the number of plants engaged in processing, storage, marketing of hydrobionts, fish, marine products and products that are imported into the Russian Federation.
Rosselkhoznador will be carrying out the inspections and unless a plant is included on the official list it will not be allowed to export to the Russian Federation.
