Salmonids Health Welfare +3 more

CHILE - After some weeks without any ISA virus outbreaks in the country, the National Fisheries Service (Sernapesca) has declared a new infected site in the 11th Region (Aysn) as well as a new site under sanitary fallow, in its weekly update.

According to FishfarmingXpert, the affected site has received positive results from the laboratory confirming detection of the ISA virus, after mortalities associated with the disease were recognised.

The weekly report also detailed that there are five suspect sites (which have positive results from the labs but no clinical disease manifestation to date), 29 sites (including one new one) under sanitary fallow (which have previously had outbreaks or suspect sites without fish) and 13 sites in risk areas (without presence or clinical disease manifestation but located within an infected area) - two of which still have fish.
