Fish Health Senior Joins Novartis Aqua Norway

NORWAY - Asmund Baklien, one the most experienced fish health profiles of Norway, has joined Novartis Aqua Norway as its National Account Manager.




Asmund Baklien joins Novartis

For as long as four decades, Mr Baklien, both a Master of Marine Biology and an MBA, has worked in leading fish health positions on several continents, both in global companies and with the Norwegian authorities. In his last appointment he worked with Pharmaq as Director Latin America.

Mr Baklien was among other things the Project Director for building a new production unit for fish vaccines in Overhalla, the head of the R&D-site and broodstock station Svany Foundation, and a university researcher and lecturer in aquaculture. He has also joined the board of several fish farming companies, notably AquaChile, one of the worlds largest producers.

During his long career, Mr Baklien has always stressed the importance of preventive fish health precautions, such as the use of vaccines and other positive environmental products, in order to avoid diseases and pollution.

Mr Baklien will now continue with Novartis, strengtheningthe cutting edgeteam. Novartis is well positioned for finding solutions on future fish health problems within the aquaculture industry and Mr Baklien looks forward to being an active participant in the team.
