Print This Page SalmonChile Donates $500 Million To Earthquake Campaign
CHILE - The Chilean Salmon Industry Association (SalmonChile) has donated a large sum of money the campaign ChileChile, which will help victims of the recent earthquake.
The organisation wil contribute a total of 10 million litres of water to the worst affected areas, a hundred thousand salmon lunches and another 100 million pesos.
General Manager of Salmon Chile, Carlos Odebret said: "The first two trucks containing 27 thousand litres of water have been sent to affected areas.
"We are fortunate that our transport partners can aid us in this delivery and a further 400 trucks will be delivered over the next 10 days to help distribution.
He said that the damage to aquaculture infrastructure was not fully ascertained, however so far only minor problems had been identified, saying that the complications are more of a logistical nature.
