Aquaculture for all

Aquatic Asia 2011 Launched

ASIA - In their ongoing drive to invest in effective marketing platforms, VNU Exhibitions and NEO announce another big step: Aquatic Asia 2011, the brand-new dedicated event for the Asia-Pacific aquaculture business.

Not only does the concept cover the production of fish, molluscs and crustaceans, the event also strongly focuses on the production of algae. Aquatic Asia 2011 will be organised at BITEC Bangkok, March 9-11 and will be co-located with VIV Asia 2011.

Asia is the world’s market leader in Aquaculture. When it comes to the production of fish, molluscs, crustaceans and algae, the majority of budgets spent are done so in Asia. With regard to specific countries, China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand rank high on the list of the largest producers.

Following special editions of Aquaculture at VIV Asia in 2007 and 2009, it’s time for the next step. VNU Exhibitions and NEO present the first dedicated trade show for the Asia-Pacific Aquaculture business: Aquatic Asia 2011.

Aquatic Asia 2011 is an independent trade show, organised at BITEC in co-location with VIV Asia 2011. With this move, the organisers offer buyers and suppliers in aquaculture in Asia-Pacific a unique opportunity to meet key contacts active solely in aquaculture or with a joint-interest in both aquaculture, poultry and/or pigs.

Aquatic Asia 2011 focuses on the research & development, production and marketing of four main categories for aquaculture:

  • Fish
  • Molluscs
  • Crustaceans
  • Algae

The aquaculture business regularly focuses on the production of fish, molluscs and crustaceans. “The organisers of Aquatic Asia 2011 have also opted for the production of algae to be included due to its significant growth potential and extensive range of applications,” comments Ruwan Berculo, Project Manager.

With four years of experience in Aquaculture events, the organisation has established an Asian-wide network of key suppliers, buyers, media partners and associations. As a result, 25 per cent of the total number of visits to VIV Asia 2009 had a specific interest in Aquaculture. In close co-operation with exhibitors and media partners like Aqua Culture Asia Pacific, Aquatic Asia 2011 is set to attract the following visitor target groups:

  • Genetics & Breeding
  • Seed incubation
  • Production husbandry
  • Processing
  • Transport, Packaging, Refrigeration
  • Feed & Nutrition
  • Health

Aquatic Asia 2011 has been developed to serve suppliers throughout the full supply chain. Exhibitors active in Feeding, Husbandry and Breeding will make up a significant part of the event. In addition, professionals supplying solutions for water control and processing will also find a valuable business platform in Aquatic Asia 2011.
