BRUNEI DARUSSALAM - Planet Hi-Q Marine Biotech Incorporation has opened an office in Brunei Darussalam to further develop and strengthen the aquaculture industry.

The company's office opening ceremony also saw the signing of a partnership agreement between Planet Hi-Q Marine Biotech Incorporation and three local investment partners for the hi-technology project of rearing, breeding and marketing of red garupas as well as research for a 15-year term, known as "Ecological Recirculation Aquaculture System," (ERAS).

The ERAS is the only technology known so far to have the ability to create ocean ecology in the indoor pond culture and grow such high premium fish like the Red Grouper.

Signing for Planet H1-Q Marine Biotech was the chairman Mr Jonson Chang, while signing on behalf of the three local partners were their respective representatives.

Also present was the Deputy Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah bin Hj Abd Wahab, who said that "initiatives like this will bring in new technologies and create employment in the country".

The company's strategic objective is to develop and expand the industry of modern eco-friendly aquaculture in Brunei by focussing in the production of high-value fish species such as the Red Grouper through the application of the ERAS.
