US - Aova Technologies, a start-up company that produces animal feed additives based on Universityof Wisconsin-Madison technology and licensed through the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), has partneredwith Europharma, a Norwegian subsidiary of Nordly Holdings, to distribute the BIG FISH branded additive to aquaculturemarkets in North America.

With a focus on generating salmonoid performance data, Aova and Europharma are poised to penetrate the worldwide salmon markets, which account for approximately two million metric tons of fish feed annually.

“The partnership between Aova and Europharma will provide aquaculture producers in the United States and Central America with our valued added feed additive to meet the growing demands of this important region as it continues to grow and expand quality production of different fish species. We are honored to be working with an outstanding company like Europharma and an outstanding Technical Services Team”, added Jesus Martinez, President & CEO of Aova Technologies.

Big Fish, as well as Aova’s other and similarly named “Big” product lines designed as feed additives is a host targeted specialised immunoglobulin. When added to livestock and aquaculture feed, the supplement improves the intestinal health of animals raised in controlled environments by reducing the inflammatory response. The additive diverts a larger percentage of an animal’s metabolic resources to increase and accelerate its growth, while also reducing overall caloric demands.

“Europharma Inc. is pleased to expand the relationship with Aova Technologies Inc. to include the aquaculture industry of North and Central America. We look forward to demonstrating the health benefits gained through the Big Fish Product not only in salmonid production but also in new aquaculture sectors such as catfish and tilapia,” said a spokesperson from Europharma.
