Exports reached $2.28 million down from $2.71 million in 2009.The Ecuador National Chamber of Aquaculture put teh fall down to the global economic crisis in the major export desatinations such as the US and the EU.
According to a report from the Fish Information Service, the situation led to an increase in consumer prices, which forced sales down.
Shrimp Exports Fall
ECUADOR - Ecuador's shrimp exports fell by 15.86 per cent during the first half of 2010, compared to last year.
