Port Alice Considers Land-Based Salmon Farms

CANADA - Port Alice on the north end of Vancouver Island could become a centre for land-based, closed containment salmon farming technology.

The town council has invited an expert in the technology of close containment farming to visit the community.

Dr Andrew Wright is to visit to Port Alice to view the community as a potential location for land-based, closed-containment salmon farms.

The town council took the decision at its meeting last month and Dr Wright is expected to visit the small community next month.
