The festival brought together national-level institutions, scientists and farmers, who are working for a Blue Revolution in Assam, according to a report in Andhra News.
It promoted fish farming among young people and showed the latest developments in fish production to fish farmers.
The festival is part of the state's bid to be come self sufficient in fish production the report says.
Andhra News said the event featured the inauguration of "ANGLING PARK" at the historic NAK-KATA pond in Guwahati, which will also serve as a breeding ground for ornamental fish, which has a growing market in Assam.
During 2009-10, 218,000 tonnes of fish were produced compared to the 206,000 tonnes in 2008-09.
