NORWAY - The Directorate of Fisheries Environment Award 2011 was presented to the Rescue Action for Vosso Salmon, at AquaNor this week.

The work started about two years ago, and already results are promising.

Catches of salmon using traditional nets in the fjord and up the river are increasing.

"This year's winner is indeed active in environmental protection that will benefit us and our descendants for years to come.

"This project is also an example of how stakeholders from different environments can work together towards a common goal," said Liv Holmefjord, Chairman of the Nor-Fishing Foundation.
