BIOMIN At Aquaculture Europe 2011

GLOBAL - BIOMIN has underlined its position in advancing aquaculture research and nutrition by sponsoring the recent Aquaculture Europe 2011 conference.

From 18 - 21 October, the Aquaculture Europe conference took place in Rhodes Greece. It represented an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge, latest developments and getting in touch with aquaculture experts and industry representatives.

Organised by the European Aquaculture Society, the conference covered a broad range of interesting topics such as production management, nutrition, health management, welfare and aquaculture engineering and technology. More than 300 oral and 400 poster presentations had an excellent audience and attendance by more than 1.000 participants from all over the world.

BIOMIN proved its commitment to the aquaculture industry by taking over the session sponsorship of the novel feeds, ingredients and feed additives session. The expertise in fish nutrition was underlined by the participation of Pedro ENCARNAO as chair in this session and by the contribution of two oral presentations.

Goncalo SANTOS gave an overview on NUTRIECONOMICS, integrating nutrition, economics and the environment in aquaculture. In the second BIOMIN presentation Pedro ENCARNAO highlighted mycotoxin related issues in aquaculture and the occurrence of mycotoxins in aquafeed ingredients.

In the parallel trade show BIOMIN was also present with a booth and a strong support from the sales and marketing team. This allowed for a continuous exchange between BIOMIN team, aquaculture experts and industry partners.
