The letter stated that imports of dangerous products (from a veterinary and sanitary point of view) from Norway to Russia have become more frequent despite all the guarantees provided by the Norwegian party.

For example, following laboratory monitoring tests for banned and harmful substances in fishery and marine products imported to Russia from Norway, salmonella was detected in a consignment of chilled Atlantic salmon, E.coli was detected in consignments of king crab and chilled salmon, thus sanitary and veterinary requirements of the Customs Union and Russia were violated.

The letter points out that the Russian party is very much concerned about the existing situation because it may result in restrictions on import of Norwegian fish, fishery and marine products to Russian and other countries of the Customs Union.
