The fish belong to Tjeldbergodden Settefisk AS, a hatchery, and were brought onto the plant in December 2011.

The Food Safety Authority were notified of suspected PD on March 12.

To prevent the disease from moving out of the PD infected zone, movement restrictions have been placed on the unit, and infected fish will be destroyed. The risk of infection to other fish on the unit will also be investigated.

PD is a fish disease with major economic consequences.
