Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting Upper North Shore

CANADA - Fisheries and Oceans Canada is informing the Upper North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to toxicity.

In accordance with the prohibition orders mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, the following shellfish areas are closed:

Prohibition Order 2012Q-T-050
Upper North-Shore:Banc Marie-Marthe (le Laval) (N-04.1.2.1)

From a point at east of Rivire Laval's fairway to a point on shore, north of le Brlette's west side, excluding any area within 200 m around Ile Laval (banc Marie-Marthe).

Upper North-Shore:Iles Penches (N-02.2)

From Pointe Georges-Morneau to a point in front of lets Boiss.

Upper North-Shore:Cran Gagnon (N-04.2.2)

From cran Gagnon to the southwestern point of Rivire Blanche's mouth.

Upper North-Shore:Anse du Colombier (N-04.4.1)

From a point located 300 meters east of Rivire Colombier's mouth to Cap Colombier's lighthouse.
