To the end of July 2012, Coimex has sold abroad more than 10 thousand MT of surimi, bringing total value of US$24 million.

The EU was the most important consumer, representing a proportion of 70 per cent in its total export revenue. Asia was the second destination of Coimexs products, reports VASEP.

So far, Coimex still ensures supply of raw material for its four processing plants with overall capacity of 400 MT of raw material per day thank to its raw fish supplier system in many provinces in the country.

This year, Coimex will start to build a surimi processing plant in Rach Gia district, Kien Giang province to boost production and export. The new plant has total capacity of 100 MT of raw material per day.

In the economic downturn in many EU countries, the company still receives orders from this region in the first half of 2012 because it supplies high quality products with reasonable prices. In 2012, Coimex expected to reach its target of US$49 million of export value.
