Fish Catches in September 2012 Up From 2011

ICELAND - Total catch of Icelandic vessels in September 2012 was 108,453 tonnes compared with 105,765 tonnes in September 2011, according to data from Statistics Iceland.

Demersal species accounted for 35,300 tonnes, cod 18,300 tonnes, haddock 3,200 tonnes, redfish 4,900 tonnes and saithe 5,000 tonnes. The pelagic catch was 69,600 tonnes.

At constant prices the volume of the catch increased by 10.7 per cent in September 2012 compared with September 2011.
