Pause in Negotiations on Blue Whiting, Herring
22 October 2012NORWAY - Norway, EU, Faroe Islands, Iceland and Russia have negotiated management of blue whiting and Norwegian spring-spawning herring for 2013 in London last week.
The parties have now taken a break in the negotiations and have agreed to continue discussions later in the autumn.
A major challenge in the negotiations is a Faroese demand for a higher share of the total quota for Norwegian spring-spawning herring. The other four parties have rejected the claim.
