Welfare +1 more

SPAIN - This year GLOBALG.A.P. initiated the first-ever G.A.P. Awards to honor GLOBALG.A.P. certified producers who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to implementing Good Agricultural Practice. The awards were presented at this years GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2012 in Madrid.

The G.A.P. Awards are designed to give producers an opportunity to show the impact G.A.P. implementation has made on their production, workers and environment. Producers were asked to share their successful achievements, which ranged from overcoming specific obstacles to get GLOBALG.A.P. Certification to being the driving force behind the formation of a new National Technical Working Group.

The stories and photographs of this years G.A.P. Awards applicants were showcased at the SUMMIT 2012 in Madrid, each presented on a poster for all the conference participants and delegates to see. All of this years applicants demonstrated a very high standard and commitment to GLOBALG.A.P. Certification.

The G.A.P. Awards winners all show a high degree of innovation in agricultural sustainability in several of these areas: GLOBALG.A.P. standards use, the integration of the standard into their business models, consumer linkage and understanding, and a high degree of responsible use and consideration of resources, including workers and the environment.
