Wisconsin Aquaculture Conference Planned for March

US - Fish Farmers from Wisconsin and around the midwest will be meeting this winter for the 18th Annual Wisconsin Aquaculture Conference. The March 1-2 event will be held at the Country Springs Hotel, Conference Center and Water Park in Pewaukee.

The conference will feature aquaponics, marketing, pond management, aeration, fish processing, economics, species breakout groups and more.

The annual trade show will feature vendors that have the newest and latest in aquaculture equipment and services. And a Silent Auction will be held to benefit FFA members who are apply for SAE Aquaculture Grants.

"This conference is valuable to fish farmers and others interested in aquaculture to learn about advances and new innovations that can be implemented on their farms," says Dan Gruendemann, board chairman of the Wisconsin Aquaculture Association and owner of Northside Enterprises.

Mr Gruendemann says Wisconsin ranks first in the Midwest for aquaculture and bolsters a $21 million economic impact to the state.

The event is sponsored by Wisconsin Aquaculture Association, Inc., University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point/Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility, University of Wisconsin-Extension, and Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.
