In addition, work has begun on some major infrastructure projects in drinking water and the Changshan Bridge.

The processing of scallop started on the 15th day of January, said Liang Fuxiang, head of the local aquaculture society. The survival rate of scallop has been improving in recent years, thanks to an improvement in the species.

Dachangshandao town and the town of Guanglu, Dalian, Liaoning province, have established workshops to process wakame, which will be sold in other provinces, such as Sichuan and Yunnan, and exported to neighboring countries, such as Japan and South Korea.

Work on 13 related projects is progressing steadily, one of them a Changhai Airport expansion project, another a drinking water project, and a round-the-island highway and the Changshan Bridge.
