Viral Haemorrhagic Septicaemia Confirmed in Japan

JAPAN - An outbreak of Viral Haemorrhagic Septicaemia has been detected on a open salt water fish farm in Japan.

The outbreak occurred in Japanese Amberjack in Tsukumi bay, Oita on the 18 March 2013.

Of the 2500 fish susceptible, 250 cases were reported which led to 250 deaths.

The source of the outbreak is unknown and the case has now been resolved.
