Through this Framework Agreement the basis to undertake actions concerning traceability, consumer information, efficiency, marketing and promoting the consumption of fish products are provided.

These actions will focus primarily on the development of seminars and courses and the production of reports on these subjects.

The Convention, in two years, includes the creation of a monitoring committee to ensure compliance with commitments and to solve problems that may arise.

The General Secretariat of Fisheries has spent several years working with Aecoc in order to provide the fishing industry with the possibility of implementing a standardised bar code as a useful tool for traceability of products.
