Sierra Leone and Russia to Sign New Fisheries Agreement

SIERRA LEONE and RUSSIA - Sierra Leones Ambassador, John Sahr Yambasu, has confirmed that a fisheries agreement will be signed between Sierra Leone and Russia in Moscow in June/July 2013.

Awareness Times reports that the ambassador made the announcement during a plenary meeting between the two countries.

At the meeting, Ambassador Yambasu said that the fisheries agreement will be made in an effort to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the two nation.

He also pointed out that the agreement is meant to provide vast opportunities for the exchange of information regarding the development of Sierra Leone's fisheries sector.

Ambassador Yambasu said that the agreement will also focus on the development of aquaculture, wherein fishing industry personnel will be trained and educated and experts will share technical experience.
