Sokoto to Boost Fish Farming

NIGERIA - The Sokoto State government has expressed commitment towards boosting fish farming in the state.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the annual Gumare fishing festival in Romon-Sarki village of Tambuwal Local Government Area of the state, Governor, Aliyu Wamakko, described agriculture as key to transformation and socio-economic development.

Daily Trust reports that the governor urged more people in the state to engage in farming.

He said the state government constructed three agricultural skills acquisition centres, one in each of the three senatorial zones of the state, to train people on new techniques of livestock production.
