Microalgae contain high amounts of lipids, proteins and carbohydrates, which all can be used for different markets. Worldwide basic research, pilot and demonstration projects are developed. The industry is working on the basic aspects to make commercial production of microalgae possible.

During the 7th International Algae Congress in Hamburg, many developments in the agricultural and aquacultural field will be shown by presentations of the larger projects inside and outside Europe.

Sessions will address: Biodiversity, Bio-analytics, production systems, processing, aquaculture, agriculture and food applications. Speakers will be industry representatives as well as leading algae researchers and practitioners.

The congress program together with the information market and poster presentations will give a clear insight into the latest technological innovations, the economic outlook and the international developments in the algae industry. Authorities should be aware of these developments and industrial parties will benefit from it.

As significant improvements could be achieved, the organisers will trigger innovations at different levels. Companies and institutions are invited to participate in the Awards Ceremony. Three different categories will be awarded: Innovation, Senior or Junior! Observe your particular business environment. The organisers are looking forward to receiving your recommendations.

The conference is being organised by DLG (German Agricultural Society) and DLG BENELUX in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Lausitz, Wageningen UR, European Society of Micro Algal Biotechnology and cofactor.
