Total Icelandic Catch Decreased by 13.6 Per Cent in June

ICELAND - Total catch of Icelandic vessels in June 2013 was 39,812 tonnes compared to 52,290 tonnes in June 2012, reports Statistics Iceland.

According to Statistics Iceland, demersal species accounted for 26 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 15 thousand tonnes, haddock nearly 2,100 tonnes, redfish 2,500 tonnes and saithe 2,800 tonnes.

The pelagic catch was 9,100 tonnes, thereof mackerel nearly 8,400 tonnes.

At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 13.6% in June 2013 compared with June 2012.
