The project, which began in June 2012, is in its testing phase and prototypes correction. Completion is expected by the end of 2013.

Technologists Regional Fisheries Research Center (CRIP) of INAPESCA in Salina Cruz, stressed that the construction of the ship is to establish a model system for shrimp fishing that is more environmentally friendly and that reduces the volume of by-catch.

The new model will replace the boat that is currently operating.

This joint effort led by the INAPESCA also seeks to streamline fishing operations by implementing new technology and the use of lighter and stronger materials.
