One of the cases was reported at a Cooke Aquaculture farm in Manuel's Arm, affecting two cages, while the other case was reported at a Gray Aquaculture farm in Pass My Can Island and 21 cages were affected, according to local newspaper VOCM.

There are no other farms in the area thought to be at risk.

In response to the outbreak, Cyr Couturier, Executive Director of the Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association, told TheFishSite that last week the affected sites were ordered to depopulate their fish and this is soon to be completed.
