ECUADOR - A group of delegates from the Russian Federation visited the National Fisheries Institute (INP) in Ecuador to study the process carried out in shrimp production in establishments that are part of the production chain, and also to see if they meet the national standard and quality for aquaculture and fisheries products exported to Russia.

During the visit, there was a round of discussion with the Russian delegates, where 31 representatives of the fisheries and aquaculture sector in the country attended and pledged to comply to the Russian requirements and maintain the system verification imposed by the Ecuadorian authorities.

The coordinator of the Fisheries Quality Assurance, Aquaculture and Environment (ACPAA) stated that the INP offers health and safety guarantees for fishery and aquaculture products that are exported.

Russia recognizes the INP as a counterpart agency in food safety for fishery and aquaculture products, so Natarov Dmitry, who heads the Russian delegation, promised to send the law of the country in Russian, to be translated into Spanish by an official interpreter.
