Decrease in Value of Icelandic Fish Catch During First Half of 2013

ICELAND - The total value of Icelandic catch from January-August 2013 was 101.4 billion ISK, according to the latest figures from Statistics Iceland.

Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 101.4 billion ISK in January-August 2013, compared with 108.4 billion ISK in the first eight months of 2012.

Total value decreased therefore by 6.5 per cent between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 57.7 billion; thereof cod ISK 29.7 billion, haddock 7.3 billion, and redfish 8.4 billion.

Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 33.1 billion and flatfish catches for 6,3 billion.
