The three salt water farms are located in Brancaster, Thornham and Blakeney Harbour in North Norfolk, England.
Of the 5,500 oysters susceptible, 2,100 cases were reported. Morbidity and mortality rates ranged from 20 to 40 per cent.
The oysters affected were mainly adult, market-sized oysters.
