In November this year, the clam price was at VND20,000- 22,000 per kilogram, VND4,000 higher than that of the previous month.

Local farmers can earn over VND400 million from 1 hectares of clam farming with productivity of 20 MT, reports VASEP.

The province has 2,000 hectares of clam farming including 350 hectares of clam seed. Farmers in Go Cong Dong district supply 20,000 MT of clam per year to processors.

The local authorities are planning and closely controlling farming areas in the locality as well as introducing farming techniques to farmers with an aim to protect fish stock and ensure the supply of clam seed for farmers.
