Total Icelandic Catch Increased in November 2013

ICELAND - Total Icelandic catch has increased by 13.8 per cent in November at constant prices, according to Statistics Iceland.

Total catch of Icelandic vessels in November 2013 was 81,874 tonnes compared to 90,570 tonnes in November 2012.

Demersal species accounted for 41,200 tonnes, thereof cod 24,600 tonnes, haddock 5,200 tonnes, redfish 4,800 tonnes and saithe 3,800 tonnes. The pelagic catch was 38,100 tonnes mostly herring.

At constant prices the volume of the catch increased by 13.8 per cent in November 2013 compared with November 2012.
