Positive Growth for Peru's Fishing Sector

PERU - In November 2013, Peru's fishing industry recorded two months of continuous growth of 75.31 per cent, driven by the increased fishing for direct and indirect human consumption.

In the growth of fisheries for human consumption (16.59 per cent), canning accounted for 94.55 per cent, cured 83.45 per cent, frozen 14.84 per cent and fresh 7.46 per cent.

In parallel, the anchovy landings (for the development of oil and fish meal) increased (409.69 per cent).
