The company, based in Bantry, Cork, will supply two frozen fish products to Tesco.

The contract will create four new jobs and will help to support 40 more at the company’s processing plant in Cork.

“We are delighted at the opportunity Tesco has given us to expand our reach into the UK,” said Colman Keohane, managing director of the family-run business, speaking to Business&Leadership.

“Our products are ideal for time conscious consumers as they can be cooked from frozen in the microwave in just nine minutes. The products are steam cooked in their natural juices for a guaranteed healthy dinner.

“We also use an innovative skin-film packing method, the first of its kind in Europe. Skin-film is a technique which works by taking all of the oxygen out of the product thus providing an extra four days shelf life and an improved appearance.”
