Fishing Conflicts Remain Between Norway And Russia

NORWAY - Norway has, however, recently been caught up in conflicts with Russia over fishing and salmon exports. Russia forbid the import of fresh farmed Norwegian salmon at the beginning of the year, after Russian officials claimed the fish contained toxins.

The ban came just weeks after Norwegian authorities had boarded a Russian trawler in the Barents Sea, claiming it was engaging in illegal fishing.
