PHILIPPINES - Senator Edgardo Angara last Saturday said Western Visayas has a potential to be the country's basket capital for agriculture and aquaculture.Angara, during a ground breaking ceremony in Dumangas, Iloilo for a fish processing plant, said that Panay Island especially Iloilo could be a prosperous region in the country if its natural resources would be developed.
"Western Visayas has a capability to be Philippines' capital for aqua culture, agriculture and livestock because in this region especially Iloilo have all these from foods, vegetables, corns, rice, fishes, livestock - everything," Angara.
