Value of Icelandic Fish Catch Decreased between 2012 and 2013

ICELAND - The yearly value of catch of Icelandic vessels decreased by 4.1 per cent from 2012 to 2013, reports Statistics Iceland.

Total value of demersal species decreased by 4.7 per cent between years, mostly due to decreased prices for cod.

In 2013 the vessels caught 15.3 per cent more cod than in 2012 while the total value of cod catches decreased by 4.4 per cent.
