VIET NAM - Roughly 1,433 high-capacity offshore fishing vessels in the central province of Binh Dinh have been equipped with high-frequency communication equipment, making it more convenient for fishermen to update their operation at sea with inshore monitoring stations.
The well-equipped vessels account for 52 per cent of the total in the locality, reports VASEP.
The provincial Sub-Department of Capture Fisheries and Resources Protection has invested over VND500 million to install communication equipments and build an inshore monitoring station in Tam Quan Bac commune, Hoai Nhon district.
Construction of another station at De Gi seaport, Phu Cat district is under consideration.
