At a working session with the provincial authorities in Bac Lieu on April 26, he directed more attention to zoning off aquaculture areas and processing food and aquatic products for export, using technological advances.

Going into more detail, he suggested Bac Lieu offer support to farmers in acquiring seedlings, capital and facilities, in order to create a value chain that will make it easier to churn out competitive products.

At the same time, he turned their attention to education, especially vocational training for skilled workers, as this provides a strategic foundation for growth.

At the session, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Vo Van Dung reported that the local economy expanded by 11.3 percent year-on-year in January-March with more and more residents enjoying better lives.

He informed the leader that the province is pushing the Bac Lieu wind power plant project, one of the first of its kind in Vietnam. It is also ramping up transport and aquaculture infrastructure, human resources training and social welfare policies for all.

Earlier, Dung and Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam toured Bac Lieu wind power plant in Vinh Trach Dong commune. They also offered incense at a memorial dedicated to war heroes.
